A growing concern in the city of Ferndale right now is the possibility that the city might become overwhelmed with medical marijuana stores within the next few years. While the Ferndale City Council has addressed the issue of fees for registering medical marijuana facilities in the city, the Council has not made any statement as to the number of medical marijuana facilities that they would allow in Ferndale.
One resident stated that she was worried that, “the flood gates are being opened by the City Council in allowing the medical marijuana store in here in the first place. When will we have enough? There are a lot of vacant stores, will they all be taken over by weed stores?” To this point, the Ferndale City Council has not gone on record to address this growing concern.
